Business Assistance Center
The Hamden Business Assistance Center (BAC) provides technical assistance and training to small businesses and would-be entrepreneurs, and facilitates access to services and capital offered by the providers within the Town of Hamden and South-Central Region of Connecticut.
The BAC provides these services through a consortium of partners that each play an important role in the delivery of small business services in Hamden. The BAC is headquartered at Hamden Government Center at 3074 Whitney Avenue, Building 1. Services can also be provided in alternative locations upon request. The Coordinator of the BAC, Richard Pearce, ensures that the clients receive proper services and ongoing consultation to meet their objectives.
Business candidates get many hours of free service through the BAC. Customers will get a maximum of four free hours of service. Additional services can be purchased by the customer.

- Be an objective sounding board for owners’ ideas
Quinnipiac University / Southern CT State University / Albertus Magnus College
Business student interns provide intake and track small businesses, providing technical assistance, such as on Business Plans, Cash Flow & Financial Reporting, Credit Repair and Assistance, etc. under the direction of the Program Coordinator.
Hamden Chamber of Commerce
Assists businesses in marketing opportunities and techniques and provides access to business-to-business opportunities.
Hamden Economic Development Department
This office provides outreach for seminars and the certification programs established by the BAC. This office also provides technical assistance related to real estate development, leasing contacts, and grant and loan programs offered by the Town, State, and other regional sources of capital.
Technical Service Providers
The BAC uses a diverse range of technical service providers to assist business clients with extended needs such as financing, legal, insurance, marketing, and web services beyond what is provided within the seminar and one on one services provided by BAC.
