Overview

The Town of Hamden received $24,140,338 in Coronavirus State and Local Recovery Funds authorized by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) administered through the U.S. Department of Treasury to address local needs generated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

ARPA funds can be used in five broad categories; (1) responding to the public health emergency and the negative economic impacts of COVID-19; (2) replacement of loss revenue; (3) premium pay; (4) water and sewer infrastructure; and (5) broadband infrastructure, with eligible costs being those that occurred after March 3, 2021. Treasury’s key objectives with the funding are to: Fight the pandemic and support families and businesses struggling with its public health and economic impacts;  maintain vital public services, build a strong, resilient, and equitable recovery by making investments that support long-term growth and opportunity.

The Town of Hamden held community input sessions to obtain input as to how the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds should be used. For more information on community needs, please see Public Input.
