Cares Act (CDBG-CV)
The Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES) Act was signed into law on March 27, 2020. The CARES Act provided $5 billion in supplemental Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus (CDBG-CV) funding to be used to prevent, prepare for and respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. CDBG eligible activities include small business assistance, public facilities/infrastructure improvements, housing rehabilitation and public services. .
CDBG-CV Program Guidance and Requirements
All CDBG-CV funded activities must be in relation to the pandemic. Applicants will be required to provide a narrative on how each activity applied for was affected by COVID-19. Grantees are required to have adequate policies and procedures in place to prevent duplication of benefits.
Application period: opens April 3, 2023 - closes May 12, 2023 4 pm (link to downloadable application coming soon)

Incomplete and/or late submission will not be considered
Grant requests: $15,000 minimum - $30,000 maximum
Must be nonprofit entity with active System of Award (SAM) registration
Services/activities must meet one of three CDBG national objectives:
- Benefit to low and moderate income (LMI) persons
- Aid in the prevention or elimination of slims or blight
- Meet a need having a particular urgency (referred to as urgent need)
CDBG-CV prioritized activities include the following:
- Small business assistance
- Public facilities/infrastructure improvements
- Housing rehabilitation
- Public services
